Freshwater Aquariums

A freshwater aquarium is a great choice if you are considering adding a living aquatic feature to your home or office.

There are many species of freshwater fish from all around the world which are quite easy to keep and make for interesting aquarium inhabitants. Freshwater fish, in most cases, are captive bred so they are much less expensive than saltwater fish which are usually wild caught. For this reason keeping a freshwater tank is a more economical and is often seen as a “green” or low environmental impact option for aquarists. The filtration for freshwater aquariums is usually less elaborate than its saltwater counterpart and the maintenance can be done less frequently so this is often a preferred choice for many customers who are “getting their feet wet” in aquarium keeping.
